Kai is a global development advisor and Smart Cities expert with an international background in medicine, emergency management, and policy. She is the CEO and founding partner of Embassy: Digital Diplomacy, a holocratic consultancy of young, talented entrepreneurs and the Next Generation creative class of international „digital nomads“ working to enhance liveability in cities across the world, connect innovation communities, and develop sustainable Smart City solutions between public, private, and creative stakeholders.
Previously, Kai served as CTO developing digital platforms for impact investment at a private financial firm in Monaco. She arrived to this position after assisting in education policy in Switzerland to create an International Business Masters programme. Kai also spent several years working on special projects on behalf of the Ministry of Health in Uganda, leveraging technology in resource-scarce environments and working to critically bridge the gaps between foreign aid, government policy, and social consequences. Kai studied international relations and economics at Swarthmore College, medicine at Georgetown School of Medicine, and Emergency Management at Harvard University. During her studies, Kai designed microfinance initiatives to empower women in rural Mayan communities in the context of culture, creative arts entrepreneurship, and economic development. She also led a national project to end youth homelessness in American cities. Kai resides in the South of France and enjoys running, teaching yoga, and finding local honeys.
