Jennifer Schneider is the founder of Jardinyo, a start-up with the mission to enable urban citizens, with only little space, time and knowledge about farming, to grow their own food, right where they are. With an intelligent, digital supported planting kit she wants to create awareness about sustainable food production, while giving people the opportunity to grow their own food in a fun and social connected way.
As an agricultural economist, educated from the Justus-Liebig-Universtity of Giessen (Bsc.) and the Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel (Msc.) she has been aware of the challenges of food production systems spread through the world. Before starting her own business, she worked as an sustainability specialist for multinational corporations in the food-processing industry, like Kraft Foods. Her vision is to create a worldwide network of urban farmers and help them sharing knowledge on how to grow food in the cities.
